PRIVACY NOTICE
(Per
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and FTC Rule)
Our Privacy Practices
We
take seriously our responsibility to respect the privacy of consumers and our
customers regarding nonpublic personal information, hereafter “private”
information. At our dealership,
only employees who are involved in the processing of your transaction may have
access to private information. We
maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with
federal regulations to guard your privacy.
We also limit the disclosure of private information to third parties, as
described below.
The Private Information We Collect
In
connection with your transaction, we
collect private information about you from you and the credit application which
you complete, such as your residence, job, salary history, social security
number, and credit history. We also
obtain credit reports from consumer reporting companies. We may also obtain private information from automobile
manufacturers, financial institutions, or other non-affiliated companies with
whom we do business regarding your current accounts with them or your prior
business or financial relationship.
Disclosure of Private Information
We may disclose
all of the private information described above which we collect about you, while
you are a consumer, customer, or former customer, to companies with whom we are
affiliated or as otherwise permitted by law.
We do not
disclose private information to non-affiliated third parties, except as is
permitted by law. Such disclosures
include but are not limited to disclosures necessary to effect, administer, or
enforce a transaction which you have requested or authorized, or in connection
with servicing or processing your transaction.
As described
above, disclosures may be made to certain affiliated or non-affiliated third
parties, such as financial service providers, e.g., possible lenders on your
transaction; non-financial companies, such as automobile manufacturers, service
contract providers, and insurance companies; and others, such as collection
agencies, repossession agencies or other entities needed to protect our
interests. We may also disclose any
private information we collect about you to non-affiliated companies that
perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with
whom we have joint marketing agreements. For example, we may want to do a
direct-mail letter to our customers advising them of special vehicle or service
offers. However, we will only do
this if the company signs an agreement with us promising to keep your private
information confidential in accordance with applicable law.
No Opt Out
Since
the only disclosures which we may make are permitted by law, you do not have the
opportunity to opt-out of these disclosures.
This Notice refers to our privacy policies and practices effective on
and after July 1, 2001. We
reserve the right to amend this Notice and our policies and practices at
anytime, consistent with all applicable law.
